The President of NIFST Dr. Bola Osinowo (CEO BMS Industries), played host to high profiled delegate from NIFST FIIRO Zone ably led by the Zonal Coordinator Dr. S.B Kosoko.

The coordinator stated that the paramount reason for the visit was to associate and identify with the President whose organisation by default falls within the FIIRO Zone. He appreciated the President for his support towards the zone over the years during the zonal programmes and also appealed for continued support in the bid to revitalise the zone.

The President, assured the Zone of his unflinching support and immediately gave express permission to his staff (Ms Adeniran Seun and Mr Ganiu Tosin who were also present at the meeting) to join activities holding within the zone. He further inquired of activities which the zone has planned and in response, the coordinator unveiled some of the activities of the zone which include webinars and FORUM 4.0.

Former President of NIFST and Chairman Industrial linkage Mr. Wole Toye was also in attendance and urged the zone to ensure the large number of members within the zone should also translate to the chapter level. He challenged the zone to resuscitate the interaction between the Institute and industries which was in time past what the zone was known for.

The President further advised the zone to identify members in industries within the zone and leverage on them to get access to the zone stating that access into organizations can be done mainly by members working in those organisations.
He further advised the executives of the zone to accelerate the tempo for membership drive as FIIRO zone has a large share of the members within the chapter and that the younger NIFSTers within the zone should brace up to the challenge to step into the shoes of aging pillars of the Zone in the likes of Dr. Mrs E Dike, Dr. Mrs Oyedoyin, Dr Mrs Asagbra who is now DG, National Biotechnology Agency. The President also took time to explain to the Zone the importance of being active as members at Zonal, Chapter and National levels as this is a criteria for becoming a Fellow of our noble Institute.

In appreciation of the support and contributions of the Coordinator of the Zone presented an award to Mr President. The award of excellence and recognition for his continued support and invaluable contributions to the zone was presented by Dr Mrs Oladunmoye a fellow of the Institute and a Deputy Director in FIIRO, on behalf of the Zone.
